Planning advice:
Planning law can be a very complex area, with a great deal of primary
legislation, government circulars, planning guidance notes, local
authority local plans (now LDF’s) case law and so on. John Groom has
over thirty years experience in this area, and can advise on many
different aspects of property planning

Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas:
There is extra and sometimes onerous legislation
concerning historic buildings, and great care needs to taken in
extending or altering them. Negotiations and design can be undertaken to
achieve a balance between client’s needs and compliance with
legislation.

Property development:
Advice can be given on the planning potential of many
types of site including gardens, barns, outbuildings, the countryside
and so on. John Groom has been involved in property development as a
business and has a long and successful track record in obtaining
planning permissions.

Planning appeals: If
an application is refused a planning appeal can be made to the Planning
Inspectorate. John Groom has long experience in this area, and was a
Consultant Planning Inspector (part time) for a period. This service can
be undertaken even if this practice did not make the original
application.
